NASA Maintenance

for IBM® AS/400® iSeries™

Are you ready for the peace of mind that comes with knowing the equipment that keeps your business running is covered by a maintenance contract from the National Association of System Administrators (NASA)?

NASA, a premier provider of hardware maintenance and operating system support for the IBM® AS/400® iSeries™, offers the following features standard with every contract at a price lower than what you would pay to cover the same equipment with a maintenance contract from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

  • NASA Customer Call Center available via the toll-free telephone number or NASAConnect™, NASA’s Web-based customer portal, 24 hours a day
  • OS/400® operating system patches and maintenance releases
  • Hardware maintenance
  • Operating system software support*
  • On-site spares
  • Proactive notification of patches and fixes
  • Computerized tracking of all service requests
  • Automated escalation
  • Disaster recovery testing

*Coverage is for operating system only. Application software is not included.

NASA has invested millions of dollars in its parts inventory. When you purchase a NASA maintenance contract, NASA will stock spare parts at your facility and at NASA’s regional depot nearest you to ensure you will have no disruption of service. For the life of the contract, NASA will automatically update your equipment with all engineering change and feature code releases from IBM.

NASA prides itself on the training, experience, competence and professionalism of all its technical specialists and field engineers. Your equipment will be maintained by the best and brightest personnel the technical industry has to offer.

Requesting service on equipment covered by a NASA maintenance contract is easy and convenient. When you call the NASA Customer Call Center, you will never hear an annoying recorded menu of options. One of NASA’s skilled operators will answer your call, immediately access your information on NASA’s system, enter your description of the issue, and transfer you to a service technician for further assistance. A service technician will call you within 15 minutes in the rare instance that a live transfer does not take place immediately. Service calls can also be initiated through NASAConnect™, NASA’s Web-based customer portal. You can expect a service technician to phone you within 15 minutes when you submit a service request through NASAConnect.

NASAWatch™, a system management tool that continuously reports on your covered equipment’s operational state, is available at no additional cost with every NASA maintenance contract. NASAWatch consists of a minimal software utility that runs on each monitored system. The module directs a copy of system warnings and error messages to the NASA Customer Call Center in addition to an unlimited number of pagers, e-mail addresses and help desks of the customer’s choice. Since it is script-based, NASAWatch can be tailored to fit any environment and support hierarchy.

NASA understands that a service outage on your equipment can be expensive and frustrating. Thanks to NASAWatch and the diligence of NASA’s technical personnel in applying proactive maintenance to your equipment, small problems that arise with stressed systems often can be fixed before the problem gets worse and causes a disruption of service.

When the best of proactive efforts aren’t enough to prevent a critical service outage, NASA will be there for you. If necessary, NASA will mobilize one of its three private airplanes and pilots to transport technical personnel and parts to your facility in order to minimize the disruption to your business.

Since CEO John Blanchard founded the company in 1994, NASA has staked its reputation on this principle – NASA will do whatever it takes to provide you with efficient, reliable, proactive service at a reasonable cost. Call NASA’s toll free number,
(800) 724-9692, today for a quote and protect your equipment investment with a NASA maintenance contract.
